Opened in 1861, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art is the oldest specialist drama school is Britain and a founding member of the Federation of Drama Schools. A world-leading conservatoire, they offer exceptional vocational training to actors, stage managers, technicians, directors and designers.
Since the 1880s, LAMDA have offered public speech examinations and their qualifiations are now recognised globally. As an awarding organisation, their qualifications in communication and performance not only inspire the "next generation of confident communicators through examinations in drama, literature and poetry" but can also count towards UCAS points.
They examine over 110,000 leaners each year in over 45 countries across the world, with exams taking place both online and in-person. There are no age restrictions - our qualifications are open to anyone looking to gain confidence and experience in speech, communication and performance.
At North Wales Academy of Music & Drama, our 5-8s will work through their Entry Level exams and 8-12s from Grade 1 through to 3. We will discuss the best level for your child, should you wish to enter them into LAMDA examinations with us.
All students will be invited to be entered into at least one examination each year. There are currently no Public Examination Centres in North Wales and, therefore, we are currently in talks with LAMDA about setting up a Private Centre to allow our students to take their exams locally. Alternatively, exams can be taken online.
